ua.euronews.com "Акула у формальдегіді" - знакова робота Демієна Герста - стала одним із символів британського мистецтва 1990-их років і вивела її автора у ранг найвідоміших художників останніх десятиліть. Минуло 20 років, і Герстова "Акула" знову виставляється - цього разу на першій великій ретроспективній виставці художника у лондонській галереї Tate Modern. Крім відомих робіт Герста тут експонуються чи мало його ранніх творінь: починаючи від студентських робіт - розфарбованих сковорідок. Більшість цих творів не виставлялися з 80-их років. Творчість Демієна Герста завжди викликала крайні реакції: багато хто вважає його новатором сучасного британського мистецтва, інші звинувачують його у перетворенні мистецтва на бізнес, а художника - на бренд. Не оминають увагою і питання про його заробітки (за оцінками Sunday Times, Герст є найзаможнішим серед сучасних художників, на 2010 рік його статки оцінювалися у 215 мільйонів фунтів стерлінґів). Герст - успішний бізнесмен, йому чудово вдається арт-маркетинг. Freakin immense, this was such such such a rad experience. I'm not really one for gimmicks and tricks and "marketing" to get views or generate views just for the sake of views. I sometimes spin the sticks and throw them in the air because that's exactly what I do when I'm playing drums by myself in my room :) Recording a drum cover OUTSIDE on the side of a freakin Canadian Mountain was an incredible experience and I got to do it because I'm in Canada busy launching the Cobus Method product, but the main reason WHY we put so much effort into just this one cover was just to give you guys an enormous thank you for making all of this possible. I don't think I'll get the chance to record on a mountain again.. but that's all good, I'm more about the songs and the music anyways. I just really hope you guys enjoy this.
