Large multi-turret tank designed and built between The World Wars. Built on the principle that it would operate without the co-operation of infantry or air power, hence 'Independent'. The idea of a 'land ironclad' was no longer popular, however, and this vehicle was only ever used in demonstrations. It did however influence German and Soviet tank design. www.flickr.com
