This is a ferrocement rainwater storage tank built at my off-grid cabin in South Carolina. The tank was built in 3 continuous days by the technologists in the video. The tank is approximately 300 gallons and the material list is as follows: 10 bags Quickrete premixed concrete(foundation) 8 bags mortar mix(inner/outer plaster) 1 roll chicken wire 1 roll 1/4" wire roll salvaged rebar salvaged plumbing total material costs less than $150 The plumbing connections and roof will be added at a later date. Laguna State Polytechnic University Extension Services Ferro-Cement a water reservoir consisting of thin layers of concrete sandwiching reinforcing steel tie-wire so designed as to put tie-wire into tension when load is applied. NOT new technology. It has been extensively used since the 1970s for many applications. NOT a special type of cement a combination of concrete and steel taking advantage of each materials properties.

Ferrocement is a technique which joins the flexibility of iron (steel) and the resistance of cement. Its best quality is to allow the building of many interesting forms that other techniques don´t allow, or are more difficult or more expensive: round, circular; globular, spherical; cylindrical; curved ... and straight and angular of course. Here this is been used by Fernando Pacheco - engineer, to construct a water treatment tank in EcoOca - Brazil
